come closer

Hi, I’m Vasiliki! I base my teaching on my own dedicated practice, living by the philosophy: Practice what you teach, teach what you practice. Guided by ethics, truth, and trust, I share my love for Yogasana through classes that strengthen the body, cultivate awareness, and calm the mind.

As a devoted practitioner and lifelong student of Yogasana, I bring dynamism, joy, and playful energy into my teaching. As a Rocket® Vinyasa Yoga Teacher, I honour the lineage while making the practice accessible, creative, and empowering. I encourage students to give their best within a safe, supportive, and inclusive space.

My experience extends beyond dynamic vinyasa practices. I am trained in meditation and pranayama (breathwork), as well as Pre- and Postnatal Yoga, Children’s Yoga, and Yin Yoga. This diverse background allows me to skilfully adapt my teaching to different ages, bodies, and life stages.

rocket yoga

what it means to me

Rocket Yoga, as a practice, is dynamic, playful, and deeply empowering—but beyond the sequences and structure, it holds a much more personal meaning for me. As both a teacher and a student, Rocket represents freedom within discipline. It is rooted in the tradition of Ashtanga, yet it invites exploration, creativity, and individuality. It reminds me that the practice doesn’t have to be rigid to be meaningful—it can be alive, evolving, and joyful. Through Rocket, I’ve learned to approach yoga with curiosity rather than limitation. It encourages me to try, to fall, to laugh, and to try again. The inversions, transitions, and variations are not just physical challenges, but opportunities to build trust, resilience, and self-awareness.

As a teacher, Rocket allows me to create a space where students feel empowered rather than restricted. It gives me the tools to meet each person where they are, offering options that make the practice accessible while still inspiring growth. It’s a way of sharing yoga that feels inclusive, energetic, and real.As a student, it continuously brings me back to presence and humility. No matter how much I learn, there is always more to explore.Rocket, for me, is not just a method—it’s an attitude. A reminder to move with energy, to stay open, and to enjoy the journey.

JAI.

  • Rocket Yoga is a dynamic and creative style of Vinyasa Yoga, inspired by traditional Ashtanga sequences but designed to be flexible, accessible, and fun. It emphasizes flow, breath, and energy, allowing each practitioner to explore strength, inversions, and variations at their own pace. It was founded by Larry Schultz, an American teacher and longtime student of K. Pattabhi Jois, who created Rocket Yoga in the 1980s to make Ashtanga more approachable and playful. Today, the practice is carried on by David Kyle, a dedicated teacher and my mentor, who preserves the original spirit while guiding new generations of practitioners.

  • Rocket Yoga consists of three main series:

    • Rocket I – Forward folds and basic Ashtanga poses, building strength and flexibility.

    • Rocket II – Core, backbends, twists, and inversions for balance and power.

    • Rocket III – A full, advanced practice combining all elements.

  • Rocket Yoga is adaptable for beginners, intermediate, and advanced practitioners, with modifications that make the sequences accessible while still challenging. It’s a joyful, empowering practice that blends strength, flow, and self-awareness in every session.

WHAT’S YUJ?

The name Yuj comes from the ancient Sanskrit root ‘yuj’ (युज्), meaning to unite, to join, or to harness. Originally used to describe the yoking of horses to a chariot, it later evolved into a deeper philosophical idea—one that reflects the essence of yoga itself. For me, Yuj represents the integration of body, mind, and spirit. It speaks to the practice of coming back into alignment, of creating harmony within ourselves while connecting to something greater. It is not only about movement, but also about focus, presence, and the discipline of gently guiding the mind toward stillness and clarity.

Inspired by classical teachings, where yoga is described as the calming of mental fluctuations, Yuj embodies a space where balance, awareness, and inner connection can unfold. This is why I chose the name Yuj—as a reminder that yoga is, at its core, a journey of union, the life itself!
